To take a short nap.
eg.

• Taro usually has forty winks going home on the train.

3. Just in case

To be on the safe side.
eg.

• I don't think it's going to rain, but I'll bring an umbrella just in case.
• Leave a note, just in case she comes back again.

4. Get one's bearings

Find out where one is and what one should do next.
eg.

• It takes a while to get your bearings when you move to a new town.
• Why don't you take a look around and get your bearings.

自分の位置を確かめる、自分の方向性を見いだす、自分の立場を把握する。
例：

• 新しい町に引っ越しをすると方向感覚がつくまで時間がかかるね。
• ちょっとその辺を見て回って、自分が何処にいるか確かめたらどうだい？
